Black Tie Ski Rentals was founded in 2001 in Steamboat Springs,Colorado and has since grown to 13 independently owned branches in North America servicing more than 35 of the most sought after ski destinations in the west.
Heading into our 6th season here in South Lake Tahoe & Stateline, Nevada and serving Heavenly Ski Resort this branch opened for business in the fall of 2006. Having heard about Black Tie and the concept of ski rental delivery, owner Katrin DeBacker was drawn to this unique business model and was thrilled to be invited to be a part of this innovative team of entrepreneurs.
Having grown up in a family where nearly every weekend was spent skiing, hiking and camping, Katrin has a long history of skiing and a passion for the mountains. After college, she found herself in Lake Tahoe 20 years ago and felt immediately at home in the community and with the beautiful surroundings. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Katrin loves mountain biking, horseback riding and hiking.
Here at Black Tie, we have a dedicated team of ski technicians/concierges who are all also passionate snow sports enthusiasts! We love to share our beautiful town and ski resorts with our visitors and we want to help you have an amazing vacation in Lake Tahoe.
